Surf Terms

Surf Terms

In case you are wondering what some surfing terms mean, below is a work in progress.

1. Stoke - When you catch a wave and it or you do something special, joy and happiness well up inside. This is stoke!
2. Session - Every time you enter the water for a surf, this is a session. Doesn't matter if you stand up once or ten times, it is one session.
3. Bottom Turn - A turn you do with the board when you get to the bottom of the wave.
4. Lip - The top, thin, curling section of the wave.

Feel free to let me know of any edits or more terms to add to the list.

Cheers
Mark
